Polymer Color Flake/Chip Floor System. Colored “flake” or “chips” are set in a base coat. There are many methods of application. The most popular method is to throw small quantities of chips in the air and let them settle on the wet coating of clear or solid colored epoxy or polyurethane coating.  (use one color or mix several colors of chips). Throwing chips directly to the floor will leave uneven clumps on the floor. To learn the correct spreading technique, practice by spreading the chips on a bed sheet or cloth before applying them on a wet coating. Once the coating with the chips is dry, apply a clear top coat of epoxy or polyurethane to protect the chips and the floor surface. For a non-slip floor surface, add a non-slip additive to the top coat prior to application. Sold by the pound.
